We publish our prices in full, in line with the Competition and Markets Authority's Funerals Market Investigation Order 2021.
You are welcome to view or keep a copy of any document below. There is no need to contact Pidgeons Funeral Directors first.

Required disclosures
No referral fees. We do not pay or receive any payment, commission or other reward for referring families to, or accepting referrals from, a crematorium, cemetery, burial ground, hospice, care home, hospital, coroner or any other organisation.
No hidden charges. The price quoted to you in writing before you commit is the price you will be asked to pay. If anything changes — for example, you choose a different coffin or add a limousine — we will tell you the new price and ask you to agree to it before proceeding.
No pressure. You may take our price list away, compare us with other funeral directors, and come back at any time. There is no obligation in asking.

Pidgeons Funeral Directors
Understanding how to pay for a funeral can feel overwhelming. Depending on your circumstances, financial support may be available, or costs may be paid from the estate of the person who has died. We can talk through our costs and payment arrangements with you.
If you receive certain benefits and are responsible for arranging a funeral, you may qualify for a Funeral Expenses Payment to help with some of the costs. It will not usually cover the full funeral bill. Eligibility and the amount awarded depend on your circumstances, including other money available towards the funeral. The payment may be recovered from the deceased’s estate. You must normally apply within six months of the funeral.
If your husband, wife, civil partner or qualifying cohabiting partner has died, you may be eligible for Bereavement Support Payment. This provides financial support after bereavement and is separate from Funeral Expenses Payment. You must have been under State Pension age when your partner died, and other eligibility conditions apply. You should normally claim within three months to receive the full entitlement, although later claims may be possible.
Funeral costs may be paid from the money and assets left by the person who has died, known as their estate, if sufficient funds are available. A bank or building society may be able to pay the funeral director directly from the deceased’s account before probate is granted, subject to its requirements. It will usually ask for a death certificate and funeral invoice.
If you pay the costs yourself, you may be able to recover them from the estate. Check with the executor or administrator before committing to costs, as reimbursement is not guaranteed.
